Prior to the independence obtained by African countries, the views on Africans held by most people int the Western countries were quite negative, ti the point where they were even considered subhuman. The author of this book goes into great detail to explain from where these negative views originated: the wrong readings of the Bible, the teachings of some European philosophers, both of which culminated somehow in Africans not being considered to be rational human beings.
